COVID-19 patients utilize higher levels of skilled nursing and hospice services following their hospital stay.

The results from analysis of these preliminary data show the COVID-19 patient population utilizing skilled nursing and hospice services at higher rates compared to Medicare patients discharged from hospitals with a circulatory or respiratory diagnosis. Comparison data were obtained from the CMS Chronic Conditions Warehouse in compliance with an executed Data Use Agreement.
